Horner has been sacked as Red Bull Racing boss after 20 years having been at the helm when the team entered Formula 1.
Red Bull announced in a statement: “Christian Horner has been sacked by Red Bull after 20 years as team principal.
Laurent Mekies has been promoted from Racing Bulls to replace him as CEO.”
The Englishman retired from driving in Formula Renault and joined Red Bull Racing in 2005, making him the youngest Team Principal at 31.
He is now 51 and has won thirteen world titles (seven drivers’ championships and six world constructors championships).
